Rather than focusing solely on shopping, the project aims to integrate commercial activities with public spaces where people can relax, socialize, and connect with nature. This approach perfectly aligns with the transformation vision of Optics Valley, a district that has rapidly evolved into a center of technology, innovation, and modern urban living. Established in 1988 as a high-tech development zone, the area has grown into one of China’s leading innovation ecosystems, attracting millions of residents, workers, and visitors each year.
Blurring the Boundaries Between Park and Commerce
One of the most remarkable aspects of the project is its ability to merge architecture and landscape into a single, seamless experience. Open spaces spread across different levels, expansive terraces, and green pedestrian paths create an atmosphere that feels more like an urban park than a traditional shopping center.
The design team emphasized open and semi-open areas, allowing visitors to experience the space from multiple perspectives while encouraging interaction with the surrounding landscape.
